Chairmans Message

chairmanAssalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatuh

It is with great pride that I am able to write the 2015 annual Chairman's message for Al Noori Muslim School.

Here at Al Noori we aim to continue providing our students with state-of-the-art schooling facilities, a first class education and a conducive, safe environment, enabling these students to become confident, independent and successful young adults. We also value the development of strong relationships between our staff, parents and the community at large.

The very thought of Al Noori Muslim School witnessing its first Year 12 cohort graduate is in itself a momentous milestone and we aspire to see these graduates only grow in number inshaallah. The school has indeed come a long way in its journey and is proud to now offer a complete education from Kindergarten to year 12.

Al Noori Muslim School has also provided its students with the opportunity to partake in many co-curricular activities and fundraising events throughout the 2015 academic year. A special mention to our Student Representative Council is in order for their extensive efforts in organising such events. Notably, students and staff members collectively raised enough funds to purchase the LUCUS 2 machine for their local hospital- certainly a highlight of this year!

I extend my warmest wishes to the Al Noori Muslim School Board of Directors, Principal, staff, students and parents, and I welcome them to continue along our journey on the road towards excellence and success.

Wasalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatu Allah Wabarakatuh

Principal's Message

Assalamu 'alakum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

Congratulations and thank you to all our board members, staff, parents and students for all your passion and commitment towards making Al Noori Muslim School the huge success it is. In the pages of the magazine you will get a snapshot of the unique feel and environment within the school and the brilliant opportunities our students are involved in as they strive forward in their lifelong educational journey.

Throughout 2015, our teachers have continued to inspire our students to excel in their academic work, sports and creative arts.

Congratulations to our students for their great achievements in NAPLAN and ESSA. Their results were well above the state average in all areas. Congratulations to our Student Representative Council for their ability to motivate and inspire fellow students to share and strive with them in contributing positively to the wider community. It was tremendous to see how quickly they collected $22,000 for the Lucas 2 chest compression machine for Bankstown hospital.

Our success continued on the sporting field with many of our teams showcasing their abilities and making it through to semi-finals and grand finals. Our students made it to the grand final in the Bachar Houli AFL Cup and the Go-Active Inter School Tri Sports Girls Gala Day. All our four teams qualified for the quarter finals in the NSW Touch Football Association with one of the teams winning the NRL Canterbury-Bankstown All Schools Competition and qualifying for the State Cup.

Other highlights in 2015 that need mentioning were the Eid Festival, Science Fair, Ramadan Activities, Umrah Trip, School Camps, Athletics Carnivals and the many more unprecedented opportunities our students experienced. Our first HSC class for 2015 is another highlight for me. Having the privilege to see them grow and help them to achieve their dreams and aspirations is a unique feeling. I wish them continued success and look forward to having them come back and continue to be an important part of this great school.

On behalf of the staff and students of Al Noori Muslim School, thank you to our Board of Directors for their piety, wisdom, dedication and commitment. It is a great honour to be here and be part of an impressive educational institution. There is an aura, a feeling of truly belonging and having a role in quality education. The success of all our activities is dependent upon our teachers' passion and commitment and the important role parents have in this partnership. Together we will help prepare today's students to become tomorrow's leaders equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge for success in this life and the hereafter.

Congratulations and thank you once again to all our students, parents, and staff. We thank Allah (SWT) for our continued success and look forward to another rewarding year.

Wassalam 'alakum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
